In July 2006 one rifle platoon and the company headquarters and command element from A Co deployed to Arizona for Operation Jump Start. Two other platoons were added from the other companies of 2-108 Infantry. The task force helped the U.S. Border Patrol capture over 150 illiegal aliens crossing the border.

A Co deployed during monsoon season. The company endured daily thunderstorms which were a welcome relief for the heat.

Tarantulas and scorpions were some of the critters that kept us company in the desert, as well as free ranging cattle, hippie ranchers, road runners and huge rabbits.
